Logic is a method of reasoning designed to separate truth from fallacy. Science relies heavily on applying logic to a hypothesis to provide concrete proof. Logic involves taking information about what one knows and looking for patterns to infer what one doesn't. A classic example of how logic can be applied to a problem to learn a truth is the "Who owns the Zebra?" puzzle. The reader is given a list of certain facts about the inhabitants of five houses and their various habits. From what is known, you have to deduce the answer to the question and thus, find the truth.
