For me, having self esteem is knowing that I can accomplish something, a certain task, my job duties, being confident that I can try something new and be happy in the result of it. Pride-fullness is being overly proud of what I've done and making a point of it to other people, bragging, or making it more important than it should be.

Self esteem is a wonderful thing. It means loving and believing in yourself. On the other hand, if you are prideful that means that you believe that you are better than most people and this could be damaging when it comes to having relationships with others.

Self-esteem is feeling good about yourself and comfortable with who you are. On the other hand, pride sometimes comes with a feeling of superiority to some degree.
