i wld like to learn chords for the bass...can any one tell me a website which shows or teachs the chords?

Chords for bass are no different that chords for guitar. Theory is universal and the notes used to make up chords don't vary. Now, I know what you're REALLY asking, but keep the above in mind.

Most chords for bass are pieces of the actual chord and are commonly referred to as "double stops". A good example is the root-fifth combination. Fret a D on the A string (fifth fret) with your index finger and an A on the D string (seventh fret) with your ring finger. Move that same "shape" around and get a feel for how it sounds. You'll notice on lower strings it rumbles like crazy while upper strings sound fine.

For scales and chords, reference the link to www.activebass.com There's some excellent info in the "Bassics" section and is a great reference. I would also recommend "Serious Electric Bass" by Joel Di Bartolo. IMHO, this is the bible for electric bass. Good luck!!

the only website i know is mxtabs.net. it shows tabs (of course) of songs from famous bands. if u want notes or to learn how to play, i dont know.
