For people who have seen 'Guru', what do you think of the movie ?

What do you think of the story and of its 'resemblance' to an Indian industrialist's life ? If it is all true - can you give me real life parallels of Mithun's and Vidya Balan's characters ? As a storyteller, why did the director feel the need for Vidya's character in the movie ?

In mulling over this film, I kept trying to think
of an American movie to which it may bear
comparisons and I kept thinking of Orson Welles'
CITIZEN KANE. While GURU is not quite on the
same level as that masterpiece (after all, what
is?), it does rank pretty close in its depiction of
the life of a man consumed by his business
pursuits and his dreams. Even if you have never
heard of Ambani or know little about India and
its history, you can still appreciate GURU for its
terrific cast and its strong direction and script..

Its my own experience.It was like living in that world and experiencing everything what GURUBHAI experiences.The Aishwarya rai character told the importance of a women behind
a person's victory.His non stop endeavouring has encouraged
many youngsters who are willing to be an enterpreuner ,for eg
myself.GURUBHAI desikanath has shown the story of DHIRUBHAI ambani who was a pioneer in the enterpreunership.

Guru was nice. Acting was good. You are right in saying there was no need for Vidya's character.

Maniratnam has made GURU with two goru. For ur information goru means cow in bengali and Ash & Abhishek should not b compared with cows 2 bcoz cows r far better than them.
