Its about greed: Corporate and investment profits are always placed above the welfare of our living planet. No thought or concern for future generation, only thinking what will put the most money in their pockets now. Instead of being good stewards over the environment they hold to the domination theory.

Of course it's the Republican's fault... isn't EVERYTHING thats going on in the world the republican's fault? Most Liberals think so. El Nino? Must be that damned terrorist Bush. The Tsunami? Bush and the republican's again. You seriously think that it's just the Republicans that dont give a crap about the environment? Take a closer look at the special interest groups that support and back your beloved "limo liberals" in Washington, DC. you'll find the EXACT SAME corruption. Next time, do a little research before thinking you know the facts and making yourself look like a fool in front of millions of people.

Why do democrats act like environmental change is new, only beginning in the industrial revolution and then forget about the fact we were in an ice age as recently as 600 years ago and that the earth goes though weather and environmental cycles on a constant basis.

Man has been affecting the planet and environment for as long as there has been humans. Quit acting like it is the Republicans who are to blame.

Its all about economic growth and prosperity today. Environmental friendly laws and enforcement are costly ... good for the long term but expensive for the short term.

India and China are amongst the worlds largest polluters but they are even less concerned than the USA and the west about their or the world's environment in the name of economic growth.

It's about money and greed. For the guy who's telling people to "walk the walk," I wonder how he knows what others posting here do in their private lives. My family has switched 100% of our household, camping and gardening products to green. It costs a bit more per year, but it's worth it. We buy food grown without pesticides. We use the new low-energy light bulbs. We walk the walk, and now I'll repeat - it's about money and greed.

It is all about special interests. They were elected by big corporations backing them with money. The corporations don't want the laws passed against them when they destroy the enviornment. They want a free ride with no regulations. With the Republicans in office, they can get away with it and save a lot of money by not cleaning up their mess.

there is a vast difference between wanting to destroy the environment and not doing enough to help save it. Tell all of us where your "facts" for your statement come from.

It seems that those who criticize Bush never can offer anything other than @!#$% about him, and can't suggest anything to help. I think he has done alot to advance us in the world, the envirionment is better off than with some other democracys. Besides, it's not allways the president of the US fault that 3rd world countries pollute 100X more than we ever have.
