can anyone tell me the best time to visit vancouver for whale watching.bear watching etc

if you go to victoria which is 2 hrs from vancouver around the year you can see whale watching , but to see bear watching october is the best month but for that you have to go the other side of rocky mountains i suppose its near calgary side

I went in March/April and was able to go Whale watching off Vancouver Island from Tofino.
To go bear watching you need to be there September / October time I think.
