I don't think so. You may be thinking of Arnold Gesell who established the Yale Clinic for Children in 1911. He developed a photographic dome which allowed infants to be observed and photographed without being disturbed. It was essentially a dome created of two way mirrors that was placed over the child, with an attached movie camera and microphone.
