um well americans and europeans that's a little broad. Meaning you chose ALL of Europe and we Americans have one nation under one person unlike europe that has many nations and many differences. Europeans=civilized (I know that I'm taking a risk) but looks like you're exaggerating far too much. And exaggerated patriotism? We have a right to do that because of the constant reminder that x number of sons/daughters died in Iraq. Besides intelligence is just no right to judge. Excuse me uh where did the first plane come from? Where did Einstein live? The lightbulb? and europeans are just like us, we do things after the fact. After 9/11 we THEN raised security, After the London Bombings, you then were actually concerned.

Europeans love to pat themselves on the back and talk about how cultured they are, how intelligent, how classy, etc., but you're none of that unless you ACT it. I've spent a lot of time in Europe, and there are not that many people there that have it to any larger degree than any American. The question should be do Europeans think that they are walking gods with their exaggerated opinions of themselves? ACT with civility, class, culture, manners, intelligence, etc. and THEN you will have the right to talk to me of these things.

I don't think any generalized society--whether categorized by place, religion, gender, or anything else--can be rightly proclaimed as "better" than another. Individuals, sometimes. But not societies. Luckily, plenty of Americans *do* realize that the Europeans are doing better than us in many, many ways (just as we're doing better than them in some ways, like our TV/movie industry), and hope to learn from them. Just because some of our leaders believe they are walking gods of exaggerated patriotism doesn't mean the rest of us are, thank goodness! Honestly. I've learned a second language and everything :-)

You do realize that most countries have been around for about 2 thousand years right? The USA has been a country for 200. Of course we aren't going to be as advanced as some other countries. It's comparing apples to oranges. You guys started out WAY worse than we did. I think we've come pretty far in the limited time we've had to advance. And if you want to talk about intelligence, you should check your spelling and grammar first.

Having a stronger culture and longer history doesn't make the Europeans better than us by any means. So we have pride for our country...so what? Doesn't everyone?

our leaders project this false image of us. Some of the poorly educated untraveled people get brainwashed by them and the media propaganda machine. Some are part of it becasue they perceive their wealth and position will be better protected by espousing those mythical views.
We do have intelligence but it is muted by all the buzz from the powerful you cannot hear our voices. We have Noam Chomsky, former persident Jimmy Carter, Senator Byrd from West Virginia who carries the constitution in hos pocket at all times, Barak Obama now....so many I cant mention here....we have many many thoughtful people. We have Univ of .Calif. Berkely.....
Dont sell us short....

I cannot stand Eurocentrism. It's racism, pure and simple.
It's Europeans like you that make me even more proud to be Cherokee.

It's pretty funny to see ourselves divided as "Europeans" and "Americans" when most of us all came from Europe anyway. :)
