The Iraqi people have been ruled by a gang, Saddam's gang, for decades. Today, religious gangs roam the streets engaged in religious gang warfare. Gang rule and gang terror has been the way of life in Iraq.
How long before the average Joe Iraqi realizes he has the power to stop gang control in Iraq?

They're getting there. It may take 10-20 years for them to recover psychologically and to really enjoy their freedom and value it the way they should.

And we have to stand right there with them until they do. That's what allies do.

In the 1940's and 50's and into the sixties our system of education still prepared most women for careers in the home and education fields .Thats all changed and empowering women to reach for the sky has created its own kind of restructuring of society and the role of todays woman .
That took forty years and still women are slightly behind men in salary and benefits .
Did you hear about the woman beat by men on a bus headed to religious services . And this in so called progressive Israel . If Israel after 40 years is beating women still ,then what kind of hope does Iraq have . Empowered to do what exactly is what i would like to know . Shop at the mall ,buy a second home on a lake in the woods to get away from city life , maybe some Jet ski's and golf clubs .
People in America conduct business on the golf course , tennis courts , the yacht club and moose lodges . We socialize with those who want the same things we do and try to do business with the right people .
Joe Iraqi is beating his wife , having sex with his daughter , and praying to Allah 5 times a day . 60% of families In Iraq observed by sociologists have child sexual abuse occurring , women who mutilate the sex organs of their daughters and a way of life so foreign from ours these people might as well live on mars .
This is the disconnect needed that allows 100,000 Iraq people to be killed in gun battles and the war effort . Its not a war it is a forced social and political change at the hands of the military of the United States .
When Joe Iraqi puts down the gun stops molesting his kids and sits in front of a computer all day we will have won the war .

As long as it takes for the government to start sending "average Joe" his share of the oil revenues promised him.

This prospect sends shivers down the spines of the Iranians and Syrians.

A free Iraq is a terrorists worst nightmare. Currently Al-Quada is infiltrating these religious gangs and informing them that they are now loyal to and part of their extremist organization or be killed.

The war in Iraq is about terrorism after all.

When the elected government of Iraq shows them that they have the power and are willing to protect all of the people equally regardless of the religious divides. The United States can provide military might, but we cannot make the Iraqis truly free, only they can accomplish that feat.

He doesn't. The constant violence means he has less control over his life than he did when Saddam ruled Iraq. In that sense - which is really the only sense that matters - he is less free.

I think you might be surprised that they do now. There are more new businesses opening each day. They are only doing as they should letting their government handle the hostiles instead of joining in and making it a real civil war.

How long it will take? Never. If the U.S. stays in Iraq, then the Iraqis won't have the freedom they deserve, because they have troopers around to "protect" them.

It will take time. It's going to take a generation or two before they are truly a different environment.

I hope now.. asap. I know its hard when a dictator like Saddam rules by fear and they are probably so used to being afraid to stand up for themselves its hard to change that mindset.
