Motorola L6 - my number?

For some reason the user guide instruction to press - # isn't showing me my number. When I bought the phone the shop assistant showed me a sequence involving the *, # and dialling 100 but I keep getting the sequence wrong! Anyone know it?

i have an silver L6.
if you go into the menu by pressing the center circle and then move left and down to the settings. you should find an option called my numbers. it will be in there. the other way is to put in your home number. then after you have rung it dial 1471 on your home phone and it will tell you your moblie number.
