I have a good job in the Philippines. I just want to try new leash in life. I am thinking of Australia as a place to settle since it is quite near in the Philippines. Easy to visit my native land. I also want to give my kids to try a new life besides my country.

I work with about 4 Filo's and they love the place. I find that filo's fit in find and Aussies are very accepting of new people to our country. The culture is different but Filipinos are hard working and I don't think you will have any problems fitting in here. There is a very large community down here. What ever choice you make good luck.

as with any country accepting immigrants, you should be able to contribute to their economy. you should have qualifications such as:

1) must have a good reputation in your field (either you have 5 or more years in your profession, or earned master's/doctorate degrees, etc.)

or

2) must be able to support yourself for some time (when you're still looking for a job there) in other words, you must have a modest amount of money

or

3) if you have relatives already settled there, they can help a lot...and i mean A LOT.

also, be prepared for some unexpected emotional twists and turns (racism will still be an issue).

Yes, I'm sure they are still open to new comers, and of course they have been doing so for decades. You could try moving into the Philippine community to try it out.

If you can offer something to Australia and contribute to the community then I would say come on down and enjoy our land.

If you want to come here and take our benefits and do nothing then please stay in your home land.

Filipinos are very welcome here - just like we are welcome when we visit the Philippines.

You'll have a good life here. Come on down and enjoy the country.
