I need to fill a pinhead size hole in my copper plated ornaments

Yes, and, if you look hard enough, you can get copper colored solder (a classmate of mine has some). However, considering the fact that your ornaments are copper plated (and not solid copper), I would be reluctant to attempt soldering them. Alternatively, you could buy some copper wire the same size as your hole, and cut a piece so that it would lay flush, and just stuff it in there, using the tension to hold it. (Or you could just rivet it.)

copper is the easiest thing to solder, make sure you degrease it with a clear spirit, and if you can roughen it very slightly.
Use a solder that has flux in it ( the thin wire like solder on a roll usually does. Preheat the iron and run some solder onto it and shake off excess. Hold solder between the item and the iron and press the iron onto it, when the solder runs into the hole lift the iron off quickly

it wont be pretty. solder is silver in colour and stands out against copper. If you must solder buy some flux from a hobby store like Maplin. Polish the copper to get it nice and shiney then wipe with flux and apply direct heat.If it's a large area of copper you may have to use more than a small electrical iron and the rest of the copper may dis-colour.
Personally I would try a small patch of epoxy resin such as Araldite first. Apply to both sides and through the hole and dry with a hot air gun or hair dryer to ensure it dries clear.

Don't know of any alternative solders. But if you have some experience with 'sweating pipes', while the joint is still fluid, do a quick wipe around the joint with a rag to remove the excess solder. This leaves a very narrow, clean and consistent looking silver solder line around the joint. Conscientious plumbers always do this - or they have just the right touch to only load the joint with just enough solder to fill the joint and nothing more. Alternatively, spray paint the plumbing to match whatever you like.

You can purchase a patina that is copper to cover your silver solder, but that may be way more than you want to spend for a pinhead sized hole.

Yes,copper conductors are one of the easiest metals to solder. So you should be ok with your ornament.I am not sure if you can get copper-coloured solder though.
