This answer may be dependant upon individual state law. You can perhaps purchase, but will likely find yourself unable to insure or purchase tags (plates) for the car. at least where I live. Just because I do not have a valid license dose not mean I can not own a car. When you got your license suspended did they force you to sell your current car?

Not if you finance it. Most finance companies/banks require a copy of a current driver's license in order to finance a car for you.
