Start your clean up on a new moon day - in spring. Complete your clean up before the full moon day. Let moon light come in - as much as possible on the full moon night. Brings in a lot of good luck

Get some school kids and give them $5 each to clean it with you and bam you are a center of pure omen?
That is unless some of the hired Kid Cleeners go missing down there, that may cause alarm so call the local priest to assist you.

The first week of spring; the 5th week of winter. The first week of spring is "spring cleaning" week - best on the first Tuesday early morning. The 5th week of winter is good because if there are any leaks or mould forming it will be during that week so you know where to start and it's best to do that after 2pm in the afternoon. This time is good because in the northern hemisphere the sun (if there is any sun) is north/west so it gives light to an otherwise 'dark' job.

Instead of omens, I'd worry about the smell. I'd suggest whenever you can't stand it anymore.

It depends on what kind of mood you are in when you do it. If you go in there happy you will be ok but if you go in there in a bad mood or thinking bad thoughts your screwed lol
