It is a flow of electrons.

It is perfectly possible to have a flow of electrons - a current - with no change of energy. This happens in superconductors

Current is measured in Amperes.
1 Coulomb flowing for 1 second = 1 A

1 Coulomb = the passage of 6.24 x 10^18 Electrons

Neither the passage of electron nor the energy but the passage of electric field that is responsible for current flow.

Electrons,

hw ever, Electrons hv got energy too.

bt passage of energy is not called as the current

it is actually passage of a disturbance.
we can't say that electrons constitute the current because the speed of electrons is even slower than walking speed of a common human, and the disturbance travels at the speed of light.
the disturbance carries the energy.

Electric current passing from A to B is electrical energy or electrical potential passing from A to B.It also means electrons are running from B to A.

Energy is force times the displacement.

Electrons or charges move from one point to another point because of the potential difference between the two points.

On point is at high potential and another point is at low potential.

Potential means some force has already done some work in bringing that charge from infinity up to that point.

High potential means greater amount of work has already been done in bringing a charge from infinity up to that point.

Low potential means less amount of work has been done.

It is because of this potential difference a charge or electron move from high potential to low potential.

The number of charges flowing per second is current.

As already seen the work or energy per unit charge that is stored at the high potential is now released due to the flow of charges.

The amount of energy that is being lost, is , therefore, depends upon the number of charges that is moved from the high potential to the low potential per second, in other words to the current.
