No one chooses to be gay. Just like you do not have a choice if you are black, Asian, poor (when your young), or handicapped. Being homosexual opens your life to hate. However, if you love your partner and have no longings to be with a female your gay.
I would suggest joining a support group for GLBT. In SC, I belong to AFFA (Alliance for full acceptance). Our group does a lot to educate people. I am sure in your area there are many support groups.
I would also talk to people you feel are comfortable about being homosexual. Not all hetorsexuals are gay bashers. I am a mother of 4 and support all gay rights. In the news, you only hear about Christians who feel homosexuality is evil. We all do not feel that way.

Realizing that there is nothing wrong with being gay is the first step. Accepting that before you can truly love another person, you have to love yourself is the next. If there is really a chance that you are gay, you need to either get some therapy, or start talking to people who are gay and happy so that you can start being happy with yourself and not hating yourself for something that can't be helped anyway. It's ridiculous. It's like hating yourself for having brown eyes.

Okay, here's two questions you want to ask yourself: If I said to you that you were not permitted to see your boyfriend ever again how would you react? If I said to you that you should stay with your boyfriend of you really love him how would you react? From there you are free to decide.

Accept who you are. Your only problem with it, I presume, are ignorant people who deem hetrosexuals to be the 'norm' and actively make life difficult for you. My only advise is that you should stay strong and disallow someone else to have power over you.

It amazes me when people say they don't know if they are gay or not. Do you find yourself aroused by another woman? If so you are a lesbian. That's it, its that simple. You don't need to take a questionnaire or fill out multiple forms. You may be bisexual too, I don't know. I can't really relate since I have never questioned my being a heterosexual.
