Personally, I hope they keep doing it.
When liberals speak from their hearts and show us who they truly are, America takes note.
Somehow, liberals have come to represent the collective dysfunctions in society. How did it happen? You would think they could self-correct or something...

Politics.
The Dems are concerned that if they take the lead in making the unpopular decisions required to deal effectively with problems like the War on Terror and saving Social Security, the American people will turn on them, withdraw their support, and take away their power. As a result, they chose to stand up and be counted on relatively "safe" issues where the polls tell them they have and can maintain support.
Sadly, this is not what one would call leadership. Nor is it truly governing. But it is what the American Political System has devolved into.

Global Warming is and issue that cant actually be fixed. So they can continue to use tax money to investigate it, and impose restrictions and taxes on accused polluters.
Global Warming no matter what point of view isnt completely caused by man therefore you cannot completely control it.
So they can make it a neverending issue that they can take money for.
If you dont fix SSI then you can use that as a tool also.
We can accuse both parties of this one, although it was dems that moved the SSI fund from an isolated untouchable fund to one that could be borrowed from and played with and just plain spent.
Terrorism well ... you see they mostly all voted for invading Iraq. Its odd that most of them oppose the war but want to leave some troups there. If you really oppose it you would want to end it 'now'
Which is why its just a tool for most of them. Russ Feingold while I dont agree with him, at least I respect for being honest about it and wanting it over now.

The left would rather sell us on socialism because they refuse to believe in the individual and his/her ability to make decent choices.
The left doesn't want to believe that terrorists are evil, instead it is because the white man (western civilization) has repressed them. The left believes that terrorist may even be justified because they are attacking the "powerful" and it is unfair that we live in a world where there are inequities.
The left refuses to budge on Social Security, unless the new system finds a way to drain resources from middle and upper-income Americans.
Global Warming is Socialism's Trojan Horse.
It is never about what works for a liberal, but what is fair. This is what drives the left.

They think that Western Civilization is the biggest threat to the world. That explains ism and global warming. Social security is a matter of fear mongering.

Nothing like destroying our economy for a problem we can't fix.
Face it there are just to many people and as a whole we are insane. The dems are socialists history shows it does not work and leaves the citizens in squalor and the elite in splendor. They love the lie and hate the truth.

Global Warming is a "feel good" issue....pap for the masses...fixing the other things you mentioned require that they actually produce and DO something....that aint gonna happen
