finding cell phone company in dutch harbor?

i am having trouble contacting my son in dutch harbor alaska what cell phone company can i get

Try Alaska Wireless Communications. I think they are the only company that provides cell coverage in the Dutch Harbor area.

I think that Dutch Harbor is strictly a GSM area. If this is the case, I do not believe the CDMA phone used in much of the US will work there.

If you really want to get a hold of your son and you can afford it, I'd consider going Satellite phone service. It gets spendy real quick, but the phone works everywhere, even the ocean (if your son is a fisherman).

From my experience go with Verizon or T-Mobile. Both have excellent coverage and by coverage I mean quality coverage not like 1 bar where you hear every other word the other person is saying. T-Mobile's coverage is less than Verizon's, but if you never go to anywhere where the cows outnumber people you won't need to worry about it anyway. And, T-Mobile's plans are the cheapest of anyones while Verizon's are just about the most expensive.
