Thanks for all your help. I decided on some little neons as there was only 1 neon on his own so got 5 more to keep him company, 4 guppies and 3 little dwarf frogs.

Always keep tetras in groups of at least 5 as they are a shoaling fish! I have a mixed tetra tank with Neons, Black neons and Glow-lights with the Otocinclus as algae eaters and a pair of frogs.
Good luck with the tank and enjoy the antics of the frogs, they are very amusing little creatures.
Do you know that when mature the male frogs sing? It is a peculiar noise to describe so I recommend you try a visit to the Allaboutfrogs.org site!

Any community fish would work. You could go with livebearers. You could also go with larger tetras, such as Buenos Aires tetras. Another idea would be Gourami's, just stick to the smaller ones, such as dwarf gouramis. Paradise fish are also good with tetras (I have two paradise fish in my community tank that never bother my tetras). Also you could put in some rosy barbs. If you go to your local petstore, they should have labels with the fish that will let you know what fish are good in community tanks. Anything in this category that is not large enough to eat your neons will do fine. Also, ask the person working there. They can help you pick fish that will fit what you are wanting for your tank.

I used to have a tank that included the neons, guppies, black mollys, swordfish, a catfish and algae eaters. They all got along well.
