You could invest in a divx or avi player, I think philips have a good one. Your current dvd player may be able to play mpeg files so that would be an option, you can also convert the files to vcd, svcd or dvd format there are tutorials at http://www.videohelp.com showing how to do various conversions, it also has a section that will tell you what your dvd player can handle. Usefull too if you are buying a dvd player and want to know which is best t buy

is your dvd player compatible with .avi format?
check in your manual for which formats your player is compatible with
you can use a converter to change the file

convert it to mpg and if you use nero, it will automatically convert it for you. But you also have to uderstand that not all the dvd players out there will play a burned movie even though it says that it will support it. They lie alot. I got a apex from walmart, its cheap and it will play burned movies.
