We are going to call him Drew, but the full name will be Carnegie Andrew. What do you think? :)

Carnegie Andrew flows better than Andrew Carnegie. As far as calling him Drew, go ahead. Just make sure he knows it is short for his middle name. I know people who went 30 years before finding out that the name they go by is their middle given name.
Andrew Carnegie sounds like a first name last name combination. There is a pause between the two names. Carnegie Andrew, on the other hand, flows right together.

And in answer to the actual question, I love the name Carnegie Andrew. I may use it myself eventually.

I would think of Carnegie as feminine but if you are going to go with Drew anyway it's OK. I love Andrew. Carnegie also brings to mind Carnegie Hall.

And in 11th grade, when he and his classmates learn US history, they will learn of Andrew Carnegie, the guy who formed US steel. And then, he'll get teased for his parents being confused about the guy's name.

How about Andrew Carnegie, since you're going to call him drew anyway?

I don't like when people call children by their middle names. If you don't want the child to be called by his first name, then put it as a middle name.*
