Strength..only one vowel but eight letters. I think there isn't a longer one. Add an S on the end for Strengths for a total of nine letters....I still don't think there is another ligitimate word with one vowel that is longer...latin maybe...not English.

can that one vowel be repeated through out the word?

PSYCHORHYTHMS is the longest word with only one vowel.
Another one is glycyphyllin.
