There will be a need for computer operators for a while, but it won't be a particularly high-paying job. If you like that sort of thing, you'd be better off learning more about networking and becoming a LAN expert - there's better long-term prospects there. It would complement your computer operator experience, not replace it.

Operator? Do you mean data input? Computors can be programed to be automated.
