Realism and neoliberalism are the same thing. Neoconservativism on the otherhand was born in China of socialist roots. The basic idea in the US is that they can have "New Deal" without paying the cost. This is not reality!

There has never been ANY similarities between liberalism and realism. The liberal feels gov't is a positive force, and should have more influence in our lives. I can think of nothing so removed from reality.

Assuming neoliberalism to mean an extremely left liberal like a neocon is extremely to the right, my answer would be that for me, the more liberal you are, the more real truth you seek... there's a similarity.

I can't imagine there's any similarities between the two in 21st c Britain! I think we've all had a bellyful on anything thing with the word 'liberal' in it and would welcome a hefty dose of realism from our politicians.
