A.O. Smith is an old company at one time (may still be there) there was a plant in Granite City Illinois. They make a very good product.

Yes - have heard of A O Smith - they have a good reputation in the industry.
No _ do not use it - Have a GE model. I do my own installation and this was the best value for the money at the time I needed one.

Why don't you check into a tankless water heater. They do cost more, but will save you a ton of money in lower utility bills over their lifetime!!
