Hi,
I have a "52" reg Vauxhall Corsa Diesel 1.7 DTI and im having problems.

The engine cut out on the motorway and the Engine Management Light comes on. After about a minute I can restart the car but now keeps cutting out when driving.
When its ideling, it seams to bu very jumpy or "jiggy" but keeps going. (I dont know much about cars but sounds like what happened when the old carboretta's in cards got clogged).

Is there anything I can try? I cannot drive it far as it keeps cutting out. Is there a filter I could check? I dont know where the fuel filter is?

Hope you can help

Desials do not have a carburetor , sounds like you should change your fuel filter , if you do not have the knowledge to know a fuel filter get a professional to do it for you because the system has to be bleed after, and you do not have the know how to do that

Diesels have very fine filters which can easily clog up. I don't know where your filter is either, but if you follow the fuel pipe into the injector rail or unit back, you will come to the filter. Replace and see if that fixes your problem. Sounds like it.

probably not unless it is a diesel engine, sounds like something to do with the exhaust, either a gasket is off loose or blown or theres a hole in the exhaust or its not bolted up well..... all of which could cause rattling and excess noise...........

your engine management system trips into safety mode because a sensor is either faulty, or your oil and water levels arent up to the mark. (its to stop your engine going bang!)

diesels are lumpy.. they chug when cold.
