My wife is 68 and I'm 66, I've raised my daughters three kids to be teen-age. One is fifteen, one eleven and one six years old. It isn't easy today. The prices for one thing, keeping up with modern society and their friends another. They don't ask for quarters anymore, now it's five bucks. The fashions, the ideas. All in consideration....I would do it again in a minute. They've kept us as alive as we've kept them. When the little one climbs on my lap and asks for a story out of her book or the boy needs a ride to a dance, it makes me feel young again.
We pray only that our health holds up until they can be on their own and help themselves. I've changed all their diapers from the oldest to the youngest.

That should not be a concern. Today's 60 is yesterday's 40. Let's face it, at 15, anyone older than 25 will be considered "old."
Go for it! and good luck.

i can relate to you on a few levels. first off im 23 and my partner is 39 and we have been planning to have a baby next year. second i am the daughter of older parents, my mom is 65 and i can say from both levels its great. i am so mature for my age. it is great having someone older i can talk to who has "been there and done that" when it comes to certain trials and tribulations that i face in life. my mom is like my best friend also. we can talk about everything. so i don't think that it is bad at all

I have a question. Does it matter, really? If you both want kids go for it. You got people who say don't he'll be to old to play with them. I love seeing answers like that. I now guys the are in there 60's that have more energy than most.

I dont know...but I understand there are a lot of grandparents out there that raised kids and are now raising their grandchildren.
what's the big deal? Kids survive divorces, deaths and many other things...its the foundation and love and support in those earliest years that are most important and really enjoyable.

I think he should be mature enough to raise the child properly and prepare it for a proper adulthood. Unlike so many immature young fathers.

I've heard it said that one doesn't really know how to parent until about the age of 50. Hope that helps.

Being a good, responsible & tolerant parent with energy for your kids is the right recipe, doesn't matter what age you are.
