As a Pakistani fan of our cricket team I would love to see Pakistan qualify for the semi final berth but being a realistic I can't deny some crying facts. Pakistan team , at the moment, is lacking confidence and proper planning. I wonder why in this part of the world we don't take a mega event like world cup seriouly. Look at India what are they doing with their team. Most of their players expected to play in world cup are side lined and they are experimenting on new faces just six weeks before the world cup.With the kind of batting Pakistan has performed in S.Africa I shall consider it a big achievement if Pakistan can make it to the last four and it will be a real pity if we can't make it despite having some world class players like Inzi, Yousuf, Afridi and Shoaib and of course Younis Khan. For an answerer above "Tino" this is not the right forum to show your typical narrow mindedness. Religion never spoils someone, on the contrary it brings discipline in some one, stupid like yours, life.

world cup? pakistan? = No chance
but on a serious note.. IF and only IF pakistan is to win this world cup,
they have to do couple of things..
-Clean up (like Shave, because Carib is a Hot Place)
-Dump Inzimam as Captain, he is not Aggressive enough.
-and Play Akhtar and Afridi.
-Politics and Religious antics have destroyed Pakistan Cricket.

The odds are currently 6:1 for Pakistan, India 5:1, and Australia 2.65:1. The way Australia are playing at the moment against the poms and NZ, I would think their odds will shorten even further

Pakistan is a force to reckon with if they play to their true potentail and there are no politics involved in selection of the team with Shoaib, Asif and Afridi playing the world cup
