Not only Indians, more than 50% of the people in the world love cricket. That is second in sports entertainment, just behind football. People who got extra time in their hand only watching cricket in India.

comeon man...see the population...out of 1 billion even if 1% of the people are dedicated cricket fans then that makes up a big revenue for this sport....ofcourse it wastes alot of time but when craze is there nothing can stop it...watching cricket and supporting your tema to win is like waiting for your GF to accept your proposal...it may or maynot happen but would you call that a waste of time???? still its all individual perception....when english ruled india they imparted some cricket knowledge to india..indians got freedom from british but not from cricket......

It is West of time but Waste of time.
If Loving Cricket is waste of time, then why not Tennis, rather all other sports?

Coz, this is the only entertaining sport in India, you cant see Hockey, Football... etc.. when India is playing. But Cricket...!!! this is ofcourse waste of time but as long as you are enjoying this there is no waste of time.

because have a craze about that , the falling of wickits , the boundries & the sixes are enjoyed by all the people. and the reasion is also that anything can be happen in this game . the conditions of teams r not only enjoyed by the people but also the players
