depending on what you believe a great deal of connection.
Firstly, you could say that we are dying from the day we are born. Every day lived is a step closer to our death. Sounds horrible, but it is one way of looking at it.
For me, being Buddhist, the connection is huge. As I believe in more than one lifetime, and that we are here to learn a life lessons, then next life we either come back to learn the same lesson (because we didn't get it) or go onto a new lesson. Once all lessons are completed we will reach a true nirvana and enlightenment.
Christians would believe that life is about doing the right thing, as per the bible, in order to secure a place in Heaven, after they die.
I have a friend who believes that we are like the plants and animals, we are born a living thing, and when we die we become part of the wonder that is nature. Therefore the connection would be that we are always part of nature whether in life or death.

The death is considered to be an inevitable and this debt should be repaid at the appropriate time. The soul and the body becomes a human. Hence as soon as the body die, the soul will search for another body and starts its duty.
Depending on sin/virtue, the soul enjoy a good or bad body.
Hence the connection is only based on the sin/virtue and rebirth is taken place - Krishsrk

Anyone who is born must at some point leave the body which in this world is called death. In the land of Immortality you do not die but your soul leaves the body and takes another. They know the soul is eternal and never dies.
Accept God who is Incorporeal. He is not born like humans and so never dies but He does incarnate once to establish the new world.
Life and death like a horse and carriage go together.

Humans have deemed death as the end of most necessary bodily reactions, such as heartbeat and digestion and not growth of hair and nails. However, people can be kept alive with machines. It is an interesting question which can be defined by how you look at it. Different country's have different laws when it relates to people in coma's and people have opposing moral views.

It is a simple out-look; but I like the "circle-of-life" approach. We live and, in death, we give life (if our bodies are not sealed in a rot-proof coffin). Animals that are eaten in the wild give life, our bodies "feed" the earth......the cycle continues. Perhaps there is an environmental friendly way we should be taking care of our "remains" so that the circle of life runs more "naturally" as it was intended?

When there is no life, there is death, and when there is no life, there is death, its an endless circle.
From the day we are born, the moment we are concieved, we are dying.
Death is what motivates us to live.
If we didnt die, we wouldn't do anything in life as we would believe we have an endless time to do it.
Knowing our time is limited, makes us do things, it makes us live.
This is the connection between them.
