i think your honesty is refreshing.
if there were more like you, there would be less lousy parents around.

If you had children you would not feel this way. It is different to what you expect. And yes all those things are true about being tired, broke etc but hey despite all the negatives it's just one of those experiences that is so, so stimulating & fulfilling that those things don't even matter. I do agree that you have the choice but i really do feel that people who don't have children miss out on something that is too hard to describe with words.

I don't think it's overrated in particular, I just don't think that everyone is capable of being a good parent. Otherwise, every child in the world would be happy and grow up to become a productive, stable individual and we all know that's not the case :) .
I'm surprised ppl think it's selfish NOT to have kids, it comes across as being a lot more selfish when you have kids and you're not capable of giving them the care they deserve.
It's easy to make babies , raising them well is the actual challenge.

Hi there, its your choice to have kids, no one elses, my choice was to have kids and yes we have had our bads times, short of money, not getting out as much as we would like, but i wouldnt give ma kids up for anything ,,,, i was married at the begining of 1986 at the age of 18 and had my first kid at the end of 1986, i feel i was to young, but as i say im so glad they r here, but i would say to you to try and live your life a little and see more of the world before you decide to settle down and if its not for you thats fair enough,.......I am giving ma kids the same advice....................... good luck in whatever you do........ xxx

More then several of my friends don't have children, that's up to them, maybe it's not for them. I don't think marriage is to "have kids" but for companionship.
Those that want a family don't have a right to look down at those that don't want kids. A couple of my friends shouldn't own dogs, let alone kids.

I have a daughter and believe me when I say that my whole outlook on life changed-for the (much) better,I can say from the first moment I picked her up and snuggled her into my neck,I suddenly understood unconditional love, yes there have been trying times(teenage)but it has been worth it,the difficult times are forgotten and as unlikely as it may seem even those are also fond memories.I hope one day you experience the same.

Absolutely agree. i don't judge people who want to have kids, but they feel quite happy to judge me for not wanting them. it might seem selfish to others but i know i don't want to change what i have now by having kids. and i've seen too many people who have had kids and realised they didn't want to change their lives either. I think whatever you decide is fine - i just don't think one decision is right for everyone.

we did`nt have a child till we were married 20 -not by choice, however,we really did`nt miss them eighter. my advice is too have lots of fun-years of it, then have a child-if you want.i am totally biased, when i say a child is awesome-just wait like us,we desire little freedom,we`re happy at home or doing stuff with her.money-wise,we`re o.k.although, we spent a lot on her-we want to!marrige wise, we`re very happy, she just tickles us to death!-yes, there are a lot of worries, but the good outweighs the bad
