When we feel air don't we get a reaction from our muscles?

It's acutally not entirely muscular - the initial reaction involves hairs and a specific muscle attached to them. Hairs (including tiny ones that aren't easily visible to the naked eye known as vellus hairs) on your skin move when air flows across them. A root hair plexus surrounds the base of each hair and transmits signals to our brain - hence we 'feel' air.

Arrector pili muscles are attached to the shafts of each hair and provide the movement of hair. In this context, hot or cold air will cause movement of that particular muscle - ever had goosebumps? The hair standing up is a result of this muscle. As for other muscles, it also depends on the temperature of the air. With cold air, muscles contract (or both expand and contract = shivering). In hot air, muscular movement would mostly come from the person moving away from the source of the heat.

we don't get a reaction from the muscles because the wind (moving air) is not strong enough to get a reaction from the muscles. say if theres a really strong wind that u can get blown away, ur muscles will try to react by pushing against the direction of the wind. also if wind keeps blowing, u get cold. ur muscles will then contract and relax to produce heat energy.

im not sure whether this is what u wanted but this is the best i can do to help(:

I guess if you were faced with a blast of frigid air you might tense up which would be a muscle reaction.
