My parents are divorced and talking to my dad usually involves talking to my step-mom longer, my dad is fine but a little distant.
I'm in KS and they are in CO.
I found for some odd reason that it is easier to talk to my step-mom about certain things and topics, even though my natural mom raised me.
Currently the relationship with my mom is like walking on egg shells cause there is a lot of things going on and if she says something with that 'tone', you know? I can't take it right now and she needs to back off. If she tries to come at me, I used to get into a screaming match and that got no where and now I learned I just need to keep quiet (hubby taught me that) and that usually defuses her or the subject is changed.

I did, because they were so forgiving. They tried to give me a better life and tried to pass on their religious traditions. They took my sister and I to the zoo and out to the country to see our extended family. I could be pretty honest with Mom about some things. My Dad was 'the strict disciplinarian' until I was married, then he totally caved and the sweet side of him emerged, just in time to be an incredibly loving grandpa. He and Mom displayed so much love for their grandkids. We were always at their house having barbeque and talking.

I had a rocky relationship with my mom for the time of my little ones, yet, uh, maximum individuals did (regardless of the actuality that there have been some unconventional motives-- I, for a lengthy time period, did not appreciate her). we've very diverse personalities and the actuality is that we made sorry roommates! Now that I have moved out and am self sufficient, we percentage a delightful relationship! As for my pops, I under no circumstances knew him for they divorced, yet my mom continually spoke rather of him and reported that i became plenty like him. He died even as i became quite youthful, in the previous I were given a threat to understand him as an human being. His relatives continues to be amazingly good to me immediately! because of my unorthodox youngsters, i am going to also factor out (and resources tremendous thanks) to my stunning grandparents. My grandfather spoiled me 'til the day he died, and my grandmother has continually been substantial to me. i'm a contented feminist who loves adult adult males, has a staggering boyfriend 2 years operating, and in all likelihood ought to have cherished her father, had he no longer died particularly youthful.

I would like to think so
My mom is a bigger part of my life
My dad is a achololic and I don't allow him around me or my kids if he has been drinking. He can't make that decision of whats more important to him...so I make him less important to me.
