That decision is up to the company generally.

But, they have to treat all employees the same.

If other employees get paid during that time, you're in luck.

If other employees are NOT paid, then you're in the same boat.

Most employers of a reasonable size do pay for that time.

speak to your superior and by explaining that the hospital appointment is vital and will improve your performance when you come back, legally the company does not have to pay you, unless stated in your contract, but talking does help don't be afraid to ask, good luck

it depends .. sometimes employer asks for your precription or some documents that proves that you had a doctors appointment at that time. it counts toward your paid vacation.

If it's in your contract, then yes. Some companies do, some don't. Read your contract or ask your HR department.
