The answers which suggest 'quarter' are totally wrong. Think about it guys - 12 months in a year - that makes three lots of four months, which are not quarters!

NO, a set of THREE consecutive calendar months is a quarter (3x4=12). There is no particular term for a consecutive period of four months

Unless they have changed the calender year to 16 months per year instead of 12, 4 months is not a quarter of a year!!! It could be semester if you're refering to 4 consecutive months of classes.
