Very good question.

The answer evolves around Bush convincing the American ppl that muslims were the enemy... not just Al Qaeda but muslims.

Attacked is such a misused word. Think more deeply into it. I think aggression is a more appropriate term. But wait a minute!! How can we Americans be the aggressors???

Look, we have always in some way been aggressive in that area for the last 50 years. And the 'British 'Empire' before US. Hey, it's called Imperialism. Understand the depth of this concept. And how it is currently being perceived is through none other than your neighborhood friendly TV and entertainment industry. But wait??? WHY does the middle east perceive our country differently? And the real reason as to why Iran is even an issue these days goes back to the truth in that Iran wanted to switch their oil market currency to Euros. NOT US dollars anymore.. Uh ohh~! The Empire Strikes Back! Have the media incessantly grind out jedi mind tricks in so that the citizens of this country will grant you passage in obtaining your real "Mission Accomplished" reward. That being the money you actually made out and didn't actually spend in this war on terror.

I am not for anything america stands for, but to answer your question, I think the answer is because of the need to protect its own existence, other interests come next. She attacks countries that she perceives as a threat, which happenes to be muslim nations breeding terrorists. But take note of Bosnia where the US is one of the coalition that protected its muslims against ethnic cleansing from the serbs.

Let's examine a list of countries the US has been at war with in it's history ...

Formal Declarations of War ...
Great Britain, The American Revolution, War of 1812
Mexico, Mexican American War, 1814
Spain -- Spanish American War, 1898
Germany, Austia-Hungary -- WWI 1917
Japan, Germany, Italy -- WWII 1941
Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania -- WWII 1942

Military Actions without Declaring War ...
France -- The Quasi-War 1798
Barbary States -- 1st Barbary War 1801
Barbary States -- 2nd Barbary War 1815
Africa -- Raids on slave traffic 1820
Paraguay -- Retaliation to attack on US Navy vessel 1859
Bolchevist Russia -- Intervention in Russian Civil War 1918
Rebels -- Protection of Lebenon 1958
North Vietnam -- Vietnam War 1964-1973
Multinational Forces -- Lebanon 1983-1984
Panama Defense Force -- Operation "Just Cause" 1989
Iraq -- Operation "Desert Storm" 1991
Afghanistan -- Operation "Enduring Freedom" 2001 -
Iraq -- Operation "Iraqi Freedom" 2002 -

Other undeclared wars include ...
Korea -- The Korean War (UN Resolution) 1950-1953
Apache Nations -- 1840-1886 (never more then 90 days peace)
Itself -- The American Civil War
Granada

Of all the country/groups the US has been at war with in it's history only Lebanon, Afghanistan and Iraq were primarily Muslim.

Why has their recent military actions been centered in the middle east. I'll avoid the cliche' answer of "combating terrorism" and say that the political unrest in the area is a threat to world stability, the US (both directly as per 9/11 and it's interests/safety abroad as per the US Cole incident and mutliple embassy attacks) and to human rights.

I am a muslim ....I feel ashame of what some so-called muslims countries do to get their point across...Infact their acts represent leaders and schoolars themselves and only themselves..nothing to do with other freedom seekers and genuine Islam principles.. I have hard time understanding women position as second class citizen muslim country ...A change to more liberated islam is quite in need now so countries will survive ...

I think US gov have problem with islam itself, they hate muslims

because only US troops keep occupying Muslim countries , see if u want , Iraq, Afghanistan, problems with Iran , and more than 34000 solders in Saudi Arabia from 1991 till this day, and in the 90's at Somalia, and so on

It's NOT A MUSLIM thing. God. I wish people would get the facts right here. Terror groups are predominately grown in the middle east, which happen to be mostly Muslim. And for the record:
Muslims are attacking Muslims, as it's a civil war in Iraq and your own people are killing your people. The US is trying to protect your poor civilian population because the Muslims don't care who they kill: and are not looking for soldiers to attack, but women and children.
You'd be better to ask: Why do Muslims not respect the sanctity of life? Or the rules of engagement: soldier to soldier??? I think we should pull out and leave you guys to fight your own battles. Then we'd see how you feel about US involvement.

Hmmm seems to me there is a more likely chance of being attacked if you are a Spanish speaking, Asian or European country.

Read history, don't spout off ignorant inaccurate and false statements disguised as a question. you might actually learn something.

Why do muslim countries protect the dude that attacked the US on 9/11. Why didn't the other dude who is also in a muslim country refuse to let the UN inspectors in to do their jobs.

I don't think you are going to get too many positive answers brother. But, I would have to say; its because of Zionists.

They are heavily entrenched within US politics, society and business. And when I say business, I mean really big business.

They even have a lot of influence in the media. Causes people to be baised. Did you remember that most Americans initially supported the war in Iraq?

What a sad story.
