I don't think I ever have been, but I could see how your experience could really stand out as an example of how rude and demanding some people can be.
If she wanted that kind of service, she should have stayed at an hotel with a shop, or perhaps a concierge who could send someone to purchase one for her, at her cost.
It is worse than disgusting, one simply doesn't even wear other people's swimsuits, You have no idea what conditions others may have had. Her suit may have rotted from some unnamed condition.
I am also old enough to remember when we weren't allowed to try on or return swimsuits because of the hygiene issues. Then someone invented those little paper things to protect the suit.

People have been taught that the customer is always right, which is complete bull. Most of the people that are jerks have never had to work in the industry so they have little or no idea what it's like to be on the other end, or they are just crazy-like your bathing suit lady.

Because they think--due to the fact that you are paid to "serve" them--that they can treat you as their very own servant. They are misinformed.
Sometimes, a saccharine smile, and a "oh, I'm so sorry, but I'm not allowed to leave the desk, perhaps you'd like me to call the manager for you? I think he's your size..." could do the trick...If the customer realizes you are deep in the throes of sarcasm, it could cost you your job, but typically if they are being THIS aggravating, usually the boss will side with you.
They are snarky because they think they CAN be. Keep your sense of humor; imagine her in a McDonalds outfit having to serve a very long line of cars, full of people just like her.
Wishing you a better day tomorrow...

My god, she really did that? Jesus........
My only little bugbear is the lost property seekers. 'I was in the theatre last night and I heard something fall out of my pocket, and now I can't find my wallet/keys/mobile phone. has anyone handed them in...'
Quick tip for ya, if you hear something fall out of your pocket LOOK DOWN AND PICK IT UP THERE AND THEN.
And then I get the bloody Spanish inquisition about how many times has the theatre been checked, have the cleaners been in yet, can I go to the seat in question and check myself?
Finally, to the lady who called yesterday about her missing purse. If you're that adamant that I, or someone else, has picked up your purse and kept it, please feel free to come and check all our bags and then you can spend the rest of the morning apologizing for accusing us of being thieves. Should have picked it up there and then...........

Significant. High employee turnover creates poor morale, which leads to poorer service and unsatisfied customers.
