Why do people in the same ethnic group act all high and mighty when I enter the group area rather than acknowledge me?

becoz somepeople have different views i guess, depending on their environment or the way they grew up to understand life. i respect and acknowledge you and i also appreciate yur question ^_^. Sometimes people think that aslong as their smart their above all others, but the that way of thinking is wrong, its not the knowledge you make that defines a person, it the live you live that makes people recognize you ^^, well takecare =) and have a pleasant day =)

I would say they are trying to hide there fears, they are uncomfortable about your presence in the group. Don't give up it will just take a little longer to be accepted by some - equally don't rise up to the bait, leave them to play there power games - they will get board of it!!

Being 7 foot tall and benching 400 lbs could be it...either that or they're racist...either way you should avoid em and find a new group

It's their insecurities that compel them to use others as bait to make themselves seem better than them. Because of those insecurities, people will try to make themselves feel more superior in just about any situation no matter how tiny.
