I have my doubts on that. The way Indian Cricket team performing now, sure no way. At the same time Cricket is a very unpredictable game. Indian Bord of cricket and the coaches should stop their experimental runs and form a team that could win games for them. The count down is on for the world cup and it's not the time to do experiments. They should focus on selecting the team and getting them to play together as a team. They did well in the first 2 ODI against W.Indies. The third match they didn't. If they could do better against Sri lanka the way they did in the past we can see where the Indian team will stand. Mind you, Sri lankan team is also visiting without their two ace bowlers Vaas and Mural. The series against Sri lanka will be good opportunity for the Indians to test their bowlers. These two teams will be playing against each other in the Caribbean for the best spot on the opening rounds. I can't wait for that series to start.
At the end of that series we will see if Indian cricket team is a true contender to win the world cup.

Considering the potentiality of present cricketers, India should be the no. 1 contender for winning the WC '07. But our Board, Selectors, Cricket administrators, Captain & above all the idiot coach has destroyed the sure chance of winning the next WC.

The Windies will take the inaugural 20/20 cricket international championship. This version of the game (brute stress, flamboyance and risky play) suits the type and frame of mind of the West Indies crew. those epitomise the trademark Windies brovado and that i imagine that frankly they are due a huge ONE after disappointing abode supporters contained in the presently concluded ICC One-Day cricket tournament.

no. can't see them as too much of a challenge.
Newzealand is doing well as a team. South Africa maybe but Australia is too dominant. They have too many stars.
