i have found in the past that a 6" nail across the fuse terminals usually does the job ! it also has the advantage of glowing bright red which makes it ideal to use for making toast ! the only downside is that the fire brigade tend to take just that bit too long to attend when it goes up in flames. Hope this helps?

Without more details, my money is on a short in the wiring somewhere between the switch and the fan. Look for bare wire(s) touching each other or the body work. Try running another wire from the live side of the switch to the power side of the fan, switch the fan on. If it now works OK then your problem is where I thought. If not then I would be looking at the fan motor as this would be the next likely prospect.

Fault finding in auto electrical wiring if there is nothing really obvious, can be a process of elimination.

Good luck with it - and keep calm!!!

IF IT KEEPS MELTING IT'S FUSE, THEN THERE IS PROBERBLY A SHORT IN THE MOTER WINDINGS, OR IN THE WIRING UPTO THE FAN, OR IN THE SWITCH ITSELF.

TAKE IT TO AN AUTO-ELECTRITION AND HAVE ITS WINDINGS CHECKED.

IF THERE IS NO PROBLEM THERE, THEN GOTO A SCRAP YARD, AND FIND ANOTHER SWITCH AND TRY THAT.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T PUT A HIGHER AMPAGE FUSE IN OR YOU COULD END UP SETTING YOUR VAN ON FIRE!!
