When this country united in 1776 there were just 13 states. There are now 50 just 230 years later. I don't see anything in the near future, short of a highly improbable invasion by foreign countries stronger than we are, that would even separate, let alone "divorce" the United States. What ever inspired such an idea, I'm curious.

i think as states become more and more different they will eventually "divorce" eg a wealthy liberal state such as california will no longer want to be associated with a poorer more conservative state - i think it will be gradual but in a century or two there will be a few new countries - kinda like europe - no doubt there will be war too but ill probably be dead before it allkicks off

IT will be like with others country,,,,your country is growing,but at one moment it will catoclism,wich separate your land,like it was ......Alaska will be the richest state or the part of Russia,like it was,the East and West will independit of theirself and its will be like the one part of humen history.......
