Document your work. Record via email discussions and meetings and things you have done. For example:
John-as per our meeting today, I mailed out the Brown contract.
If you can't leave or find a new boss, then make sure you keep a daily log of tasks accomplished and leave a paper trial or email trail as much as you can. Don't complain about your boss to others, maybe you lost his/her trust with that.

If other co-workers also affirm that they do not trust their boss, this may work to your advantage. If you bide your time, just keep to your job, he may also appear untrustworthy to HIS boss, and get himself fired one way or another. Someone in the company will take his place, and leave a place for you to move up.
If its a small comany - you may consider moving on - if a lack of trust destroys a relationship or marriage, then it is safe to assume it will eventually ruin your work relationship.
