Every morning, look in their eyes and say, "Amazing...every day I wake up, you're still the love of my life!" and smile. Send flowers to work with a card that reads, "I want the world to know I love you with all my heart." Hold hands in public. .Come up behind your spouse, hug them from behind, and kiss him/her on the neck. Clean the house. Call the babysitter for the kids, and PAY the babysitter yourself. Take him/her to a restaurant that doesn't have the combo meal. Argue kindly; don't lash out at him/her personally. Plan your new home together. Plan your financial life together, even if it's boring. Learn not to nag; learn to suggest and compliment. Be a happy person; it's contagious. Take the children out yourself on an outing; it lets your spouse know you're emotionally committed to the relationship. Acknowledge their personhood, and applaud their accomplishments. Speak well of them to others; don't complain about them. Keep the lines of communication open; listen with your heart, not your ears. Most importantly, every day you look at them, acknowledge to him/her and yourself that, through the highs and lows, there's noone else you would rather be with. Then stick to that belief. Good luck and God bless.

Follow the Rule of 3 for a happy marriage

Three times a week an intentional touch (or make love) but I mean really touch, deep hug, caress the hair or rub the back.

Three times a week praise. Something. Anything. Thanks for finding my remote, you always take care of me, I appreciate you helping the kids with homework.........raise the praise, minimize the criticize.

Three times a week make dinner and sit down together.

Now some people may think 3 times a week isn't enough, but too many couples don't do anything at all and the days slide by without touching.

PS I also think you ALWAYS say goodbye when you leave and hello when you come in. Always. Every time. Makes people feel special.

Listen if your spouse is a female.
Talk about his favourites if it is a male.
