I have to say YES! I am a bartender and what I do is a job! I do flirt with customers but it's part of the gig. What really matters is if the person you are talking about is trustworthy. A bartender, a lawyer, a teacher can be a bad choice or good one - it just depends on the person more than the job. I do recommend thought from past dating experiences that if you do have issues with them bartending, that you DO NOT GO TO THEIR BAR! If you sit there and watch them work it can be hard to see and cause issues. If they come home to you, are honest and youl ike them then bartending should not affect your feelings for them!

absolutely. understand that flirting is part of the job and that they get hit on all the time, but after a few months it becomes as routine as asking a sales girl "do you have any more in the back?" if you can separate yourself from the 1000 other idiots that have handed her their number last weekend, go for it. but spend some time thinking about what her life is like. if she's a full time club bartender, she probably parties all night and sleeps till noon. ask her out for drinks on a monday night - which is pretty much the standard "industry night" for waiters and bartenders - monday for a bartender is saturday for you. keep it casual - the idea is to create for her on a night out what she sees her customers doing on their nights out. a bartender sees people having fun all the time while they are working - it's still a job - and she wants to have fun, too.

Well realistically speaking, they don't make squat and can't take you out much, if any, unless you go sit at the bar he works at, Trust me on this, I dated [ OR AT LEAST TRIED TO] a bartender. BORING, BORING!!! He might be cute but unless his going to college to make a real life for himself it's a waste of time. You don't want to end up with someone you have to support because he can't support himself.

Yea, why not? You do have to accept the fact that men/women will flirt with this bartender from time to time, but that doesn't mean anything is going to happen.

Why not? It's as real as you both make it. I was a bartender at one point in my life and had a ten year relationship. Leave work at work and keep your home life to yourself. If your smart it's as easy as you make it. Marie V
