u see, as i know the chances of getting pregnant are higher if i have sex around the 10th up till the 20th day of my menstrual cycle. its a fact in my science book. n i've known this fact since i was 15. n came across this fact in all the women's health books as well. i have unprotected sex right after i have my period which would take around 6 days to finish and usually i'll have sex on the 7th day. I'M 20 NOW, n after being sexually active with my bf for almost 1 1/2 years i haven't experience any pregnacies yet. i also have unprotested sex a few days be4 my period cycle starts again. so its always, right after my last day of period and a few days be4 my period starts again. but i came across another fact saying otherwise. it seems that having sex right after period and a few days be4 period is the most at risk of getting pregnant. so which is true n which is not? damn confuse!

God, I hate this -I'll call it a rumor for lack of a better word- rumor. YOU CAN GET PREGNANT AT ANY TIME! Before your period, after your period, DURING your period, AT ANY TIME. Those 'rules' per say are given to people who are Naturally Planning their family. The only way to be 100% safe is to not have sex at all. To be 90% safe, you need to use condoms & the pill EVERY TIME.

I've been dating the same guy for 6 years & no babies. Wanna know why? I'm on the pill & he uses condoms. Its not that hard. I'm only two years older then you & I knew all this at your age. Sorry if I'm rude, but these "Am I pregnant; Can I be pregnant" questions are annoying. Yahoo Answers ain't the place for that.

well see hmm, i've thought the same thing, from what i know they say its most at risk because sperm lives for up to 7 or maybe more days. but see your period cycle is like... 1st week period (egg releases a couple days before period)...2nd week nothing....3rd week egg comes out of ovarian and travles down...4th week sometime egg releases and then period... so if you have sex after the last day of your period, you could still be pregnant because the sperm will live for at least a week and this could be about the time when your egg comes...

i would do alot of research on the web, every human is different but you can understand your cylcle better if you research it, thats how i did.

well scientifically, the most safest part is 5 days during and after your period. i had encountered many factors with all my ex gf. and there are instances that you could also get pregnant even within those safe periods. the best way to be safe is, having to wear protection or condoms, but that would'nt be much of a satisfying moment for the guyz part =).
