hmm hard question
i clean my house once a week (saturday) unless i am angry for some reason or another and i go into a cleaning frenzy

General rule: clean up after eating and always wash up straight away (nothing like a grotty kitchen to attract bugs, germs etc)
Vacuum carpets once a week, mop the floors, clean the dust

Hang up clothes after use or when they have been washed/dried etc

clean up immediately after you have used something ie: bathroom - clean basin & top
wash the shower screen when having a shower to minimise soap scum etc

just lil things and keep your place well aired - open windows etc for fresh air to circulate :)

I had a drabby outdated kitchen floor, an entry of worn out cracked old tile and my carpet was a darn mess. I didnt feel like cleaning or putting things away.

I spent the money to remodel it ourselves, my husband and I, and we now keep it neat as a pin.

Its discouraging and fruitless to try and clean worn out flooring and dingy walls. That new stuff is easier to upkeep and you have more time and energy and a better mood to keep things tidy.

Organize one room at a time. If you have not used something for 2 years get rid of it. If you have children (I had 8) make sure they all eat in the kitchen at the same time (together time). No snacks or dark/colored soda in front of TV, or carpeted area (off limits). Have a big graduation coming up. I am dedicating myself to 1-2 hours a week to til final countdown to cleaning intricate spots. I work full time. Everyone in house has rotating chores.

I found this great book call "How to get organized without resorting to arson." It helped me because it helped me identify my "style" of managing things. The other thing that is helpful is to have an assigned cleaning project for each day of the week.
for example... Monday clean the kitchen, Tuesday the bathroom, etc. The other thing which helps is to do a few minutes clean/pick up the stuff every night. Probably the most helpful thing is to have a place for the vast majority of stuff in your home.
I am assuming that like most people you do not have the option of having a maid so this info is for those of us who have to do it ourselves.

The best way is to keep on top of everything. If you use something put it away when finished. Same for washing up. Don't leave dishes to pile up. I f you do chores as you go along, you will find you won't have to spend all day cleaning. More time for chilling and fun.

Plenty of storage containers. Label everything. Eliminate all clutter. Throw things away or give to Goodwill or places like that. Clean up every day. If you have a place for everything and everything in it's palce it is much easier to maintain. It's just a battle to get it there.

Anally organized.

Could I tell you about cleaning.

When in doubt throw it out.

Do some cleaning everyday. Start cleaning one room at a time everyday.

Do not try to clean the whole house in a week.

It took me 8 weeks to clean out 4 of 6 room here. So take your time.

I am in the cleaning business and here is our secret!
Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve

Make sure you have loads of storage, boxes, baskets etc. Utilise all cupboard space. Clear out any clutter, be ruthless, what you don't need get rid of.
