I am over 3 weeks late ( almost a month). I have never been irregular before. i began taking the pill almost 2 years ago, and was on that regularly until about 4 months when i stopped taking it. I had regular periods until this month. my last one ended december 4th. i have had protected sex, but recently took a pregnancy test and it came out negative yet i still have not got my period. I am not under any stress so that could not be considered a factor. I am beginning to think that i could be pregnant and the test screwed up? Should i take another one? Just wondering if anyone has had any similar situations or any thoughts and/or help would be unbelievably appreciated. Thanks.

I guess you should go see your doctor,I haven't had a period in over 40 days, just realized this today..I'm always so busy, I just stopped thinking about it completely. I think if it doesn't start in two or three days i'm going to get a pregnancy test.

But yeah,Like I said,I'm no doctor,I'd only be speculating,so go make an appointment, and get some real answers.

you have taken pill for 2 years. what the pill does is to supress ovulation. now what happens is that after taking the pill for such a prolonged period the ovulation doesn't start immediately, and as a result the periods dont come regularly. what you need to do is repeat urine pregnancy test, and if still negative you can take norethisterone 5 mg thrice a day for 5 days. your periods should start within 2 weeks of last tablet. this is called progesterone challenge. very few women do not bleed with this therapy, and will need further treatment. so for now start norethisterone. good luck.
