3Cu(^2+) + 8H(NO3) ==> 3Cu(NO3)2 + 4H2O + 2NO

It is not Cu2+ in the above equation, it is copper metal.

The balancing numbers, though, are right: 3:8:3:4:2.

What do you mean by *solve*? Others have indicated balanced equations, which is one approach.

However, take Carbon burning in oxygen; what species do you get...?

C + 1/2O2 -> CO; C + O2 -> CO2; or even more exotic species like carbon suboxide (C3O2).
