aright tha first step is to establish whether its tha gasket which has been mounted on with tha waterpump if the gasket is in order guy then the water pump has corrosion which has made it week hence forming some potholes hence the leak so to be on tha safe side you just have to replace or the bearing on the upper rod has seazed but then for you to exterminate the problem just replace it .NB damaged water pumps can cause damage to tha thamostart and eventuare the engine may knock ,by tha way the water pump isnt that expensive so dont wory you can make it .

The question is: Is it a crack or malfunction in the water pump? OR is it the gasket that the water pump mounts on that is leaking? If it's the gasket, pull off the belts, remove the water pump, carefully scrape off the old gasket, put a new one on, and then remount the water pump, belts, etc.
If the water pump is bad, then you will need to replace it. If you do not replace it, and continue to let it leak, you're going to lose too much coolant, your car will overheat, and you will possibly damage the thermostat also.
Check it, take action, and good luck.

Did you try the patches? They helped me stop leaking, or was that smoking? I don't know, just go cold turkey. Is leaking the water pump really that addictive?
I'm just visiting from P&S. Somebody over there said this was a good category. Sorry about the non-helpful answer, but I did give you star.

Water pumps leak coolant out of a weep hole as a way to let you know that it has failed. Replacing it is all you can do.

Yea replacing it is the only way, they have wear holes in the bottom of them, when the bearing goes they leak. No way around it, its gotta be replaced.
