I'm going to an evanescence concert and this will be my first time to a concert so I need to know how long they usually go for.

Yes I think the typical concert experience is anywhere from 3 to 4 hours, it depends on whether or not they have an opening act (with a band like Evanescence I would imagine that they will, if not multiple opening acts). My problem with concerts of that nature is the opening bands tend to play just as long as the headliner.

here in the uk, if doors are 7 or 7:30pm, you can't expect the main act to be on until 9 or 9:30pm, and they finish around 11pm, maybe a little later if they do a mad encore... that's 4 hours entry to exit. Might be different elsewhere.

each band usually plays for about an hour the head liner should play from around 1 and a half to two hours. if there are not so popular bands they will play for about half an hour

It varies. I've been to concerts that are short, and some that seem to never end.
